My first blog

Technically, my first blog is "Ideas for a game review website", but I just put that up just so that I can create an account with blogspot. THIS will be my first actual blog.

The reason I started blogging was to plant a seed. That seed being a website that reviews video games (including MMOs), table-top roleplaying games, movies, shows, and possibly music. The core members will be Pak, Al, my brother, and me, Ronwise Gamgee. The way we'll differ form other game review sites is that we're not JUST reviewing video games or movies, or table-top roleplaying games or movies or shows. We're going to review ALL of those things. However, we're not going to review each and every single video game or movie or what have you. We'll review stuff that catches OUR interest; in essence, our niche will be OUR interests.

Each one of us has varying levels of knowledge for the above mentioned subjects, as well as varying opinions of them. What matters is that we give OUR analysis and opinions on said subjects. We're not going to be swayed by outside influences: if something is awesome, we'll explain why to the best of our ability, and if something sucks, we'll explain why to the best of our ability. To add a bit of extra fun to it, I'd also like to include what I'd like to call "Chris's Blurbs", because amongst my group of friends, Chris is the guy who comes up with the wackiest reasons for why something is awesome or crap (such as our famous World of Warcraft vs. Final Fantasy XI debates).

Just to explicitly put it out there, this website will be for entertainment purposes only. It's not approved by any professional entities (such as lawyers or doctors) or whatever the fuck; at the core; it's just a bunch of guys shooting the shit about things we like. I, personally, would like for this website to attract the attention of big-name game companies (and small-name companies, too), and be either as big or bigger than sites like Penny-Arcade. To top it off, I'd like to have audio reviews and discussions so that others can listen as well as read our reviews.

Now to come up with a name for our website...

I'd also like to provide a web comic using the super-awesome talents of my friend, Pak. I see a lot of crappy drawings out there that make it on good products and I think to myself, "Pak's art would blow this guy out of the water!" For example, take a look at the cover for Green Ronin's Mutants and Masterminds supplement, Manga and Mecha: http://greenronin.com/store/product/grr2524e.html. The coloring is very good and the art is not bad itself, but it's "Amerime" (American art trying to be Japanese animation). Pak can draw authentic Japanese animation, if that's really some sort of proper term. Not only can he draw it professionally, he practically "sneezes it out": He'll grab a scrap sheet of paper and practically doodle a masterpiece on it. To him, it'll be garbage, but to the layman, it's fucking awesome.
